CORPORATE RESPONSIBILITY

We believe that being a successful company means more than selling high quality products. For over 50 years, corporate responsibility has been crucial to Amway’s vision – helping people live better lives. Our corporate responsibility strategy is based on three pillars: people, products, performance.

People

People are our most valuable asset. Our business owes its success to our employees and to our self-employed distributors, all of whom we support wholeheartedly by helping them live up to their full potential.

The Amway Academy provides them free training to build the skills necessary for a better future. The Amway Academy focusses on supporting an entrepreneurial spirit amongst our self-employed distributors by providing them the help they need to understand our products and build successful businesses for themselves.

Our employees enjoy a working environment in which we promote diversity ensure high standards in health and safety, provide benefits and development opportunities as well as training opportunities.

And because our philosophy extends beyond our company, our Amway™ One by One campaign seeks to make a difference in the lives of children in need. This campaign has impacted worldwide 12 million children, raised more than US-Dollars 250 million in funds for children’s causes and generated 3.5 million volunteer hours.

Since 2010, Amway has been supporting the Tutudesk Campaign named after Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu which aims to support 20 million African children with school desks by the end of 2020. The portable Tutudesks provide a stable work surface for impoverished schools which have little or no permanent facilities.

In 2013 all European affiliates started to support the campaign by raising funds through the Amway™ One by One campaign. Up to date, Amway raised more than 220.000 USD and provided more than 15.000 Tutudesks to learners in need.

Products

Our life-enhancing products, expertise and opportunity will help change the world by addressing the health and wellbeing of people. We use the core competence of our power brands to tackle social issues.

The NUTRILITE™ Power of 5 Campaign actively engages against malnutrition in children under the age of 5 by raising awareness on the issue and by generating funds. These will be used to support nutrition programs with micronutrients, called NUTRILITE™ Little Bits. Little Bits has been developed by NUTRILITE™ to fight malnutrition in children and provides 15 vitamins and minerals that are essential for the development of children under the age of 5.

In June 2015 the first NUTRILITE™ Little Bits program has been launched in SA. Together with our local implementation partner NEA, Amway supports 285 children in 3 Crêches with NUTRILITE™ Little Bits.

Performance

We achieve sustaining performance by growing our business in a socially responsible way while continuously improving the environment around us. Amway believes that building understanding about the environment in which we live, and the positive contribution individuals and communities can make is the key to creating a sustainable future.
Every year we extend our commitment with innovative and thoughtful initiatives to preserve our world for future generations. In 2014 reduced the emission of greenhouse gases, minimized waste and water consumption and increased the use of renewable energy sources.
